“Memories of Ruby Creek” Documentary
Produced by Bear Image and Sq’ewá:lxw First Nation
The value of capturing the history and memories of our Elders is priceless to the future generations of Sq’ewá:lxw First Nation, creating a stronger connection. Our Elders carry the history of what happened on this land, including the flood that triggered their departure to residential school. They remember the names, activities and relationships of their neighbours. Our Elders are the only ones who possess the history and stories, so we need to record and document them now. In this video you will see pictures and hear the stories about our Elders’ early lives in Ruby Creek.
Filmed in Ruby Creek, Vancouver, and Victoria, B.C.
