Biography

Susan McKamey (THÈ KWÈ MAT) is the Lands Assistant for Sq’ewá:lxw First Nation. Prior to employment with Sq’ewá:lxw First Nation, she completed her degree in Social Work following 15 years of employment filling both Leadership and Management roles in her member community, Leq’a:mel First Nation. She is a dedicated Team Member assisting the Chief and Council, Membership and Administration in achieving Sq’ewá:lxw’s collective goals as identified in their 2019 Vision Project known as the Comprehensive Community Plan. When not at work she enjoys time with her growing family, planting and tending to far too many gardens, reading and finally making constant attempts to complete unfinished needlework projects before starting yet another.
